What a Busy Day it was Today!

Well, today everyone was very industrious!

First off we welcomed Maggie Cullinane who talked to us about the quilt that she is making to raise money for the charity Mothers of Africa – check out this link http://medicine.cardiff.ac.uk/mothers-africa/

T o help her on her way Hilary and Monica created and donated four squares for the quilt.

Maggie is hoping to raise £1,000 for the charity, and you can help by making a donation on the Just Giving website http://www.justgiving.com/moaquilt

You can also view some of the other panels that have been made for the quilt. The quilt is being raffled in Cardiff in October.

In addition to Maggie’s interesting and inspiring work the group had been busy with their projects. Kate brought along the poppy picture she had been working on since last month’s meeting where we used shaving foam to make a picture.

It will be interesting, in due course,  to see how others have finished off their pictures.

Pam, Jeannie and Helen were busy making patchwork. This is Helen’s beautiful piece of work. Pastel squares and hearts

Pam was using the pineapple design

And others were just busy beavering away on their various projects.

The weather had obviously put Jackie in a Christmas mood – she was cutting out bunting!
