Last Day Before The End of Term!

Today, was the last meeting before the August break and despite the heat (yes, it was HOT) everyone was very industrious.

Pam was on a mission to finish the quilt that she had made for her daughter’s wedding present

Three little elves by the name of Hilary. Liz and Fiona balanced on chairs so that we could get a complete picture of the quilt. How very kind of them.

And another little group of sewing elves joined in to sew the binding down on the quilt

Meanwhile, the rest of the group showed the work that they had completed, which was amazing – there is such talent in our group.

Carol’s quilt looked very spring like in various shades of yellow.

Fran couldn’t possibly have slept as she had three amazing things to show us. She won the Glamorgan Quilters challenge with this Beatles quilt.

Fran also showed us the pieces of work that she had completed following the workshop that Jeannie did for us on loose fabric collage – stunning

Helen is making a lovely hen table runner – she is certainly into hen’s since she got the real thing in her garden

And Jan, who we welcomed to the group fr the first time today, showed us one of her quilts which is lovely.

We certainly look forward to seeing more of her work in the future.

Back to Pam’s quilt – did it get finished today?
It most certainly did and a cheer went up when the little sewing elves placed the last stitch and Pam was extremely thrilled that she could pack it away ready to give to her daughter on her wedding day.

We are all off for a summer break now but we will be back in September for more fun – watch this space….
