Dear Busy Bees Customer,
I am writing to inform you that sadly Busy Bees was gutted by a fire ten days before Christmas. I know the news has reached many of you already, and I thank you for the kind words and support already provided. As you can imagine, Sandra and I are absolutely devastated and are still trying to get over the shock. However, we now need to focus on making the best of the situation we find ourselves in and consider the best way forward.
In order to do this we need to ask for some of your input. Unfortunately all of our customer records and recent workshop booking information were destroyed in the fire and therefore we need to ask all of you who have booked onto a workshop to get in touch and confirm which workshops you had booked and the amount paid.
All of our stock has been destroyed; however it will be possible to continue to run workshops in an alternative venue providing that you are happy to source your materials elsewhere until we are back in a position to offer you the choice of fabrics, threads and all the bits and bobs you would normally expect to find at Busy Bees.
We will be in Duffryn Community Centre from 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. on Saturday 4 January and the same times from Tuesday 7th – Saturday 11th January for you to drop in and discuss the workshops with us and what you would like to do.
My workshop, Beginners Machine Patchwork ,due to start on Thursday 9 January will be postponed until we have had feedback on the number of people who still want to attend.
For people attending the Quilt As You Go Class please come along on Tuesday 14th when we will discuss the way forward (I know that some of you had put fabric away in the shop to complete your quilt).
Bee Hive will meet as usual at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday 15 January.
We would love to see you during our open week but if you are unable to attend please email your contact information along with workshops that you may have booked and payments made. The telephone is out of order but we hope to post a new number on our web site within the next few days.
I’d be grateful if you can pass this information on to anyone you know I have missed or other quilters with a connection to Busy Bees.
