Well, today was the last day of term before tking a short break for the summer. And, there was certainly a lot of variety of activities.
During ‘morning prayers’ there was news of lots of forthcoming events and a brilliant show and tell session. Check out these wonderful works of art. A lovely table runner and cross stitch from Linda
Sylvana has completed a beautiful quilt that is to be exhibited at the Penarth Quilters Exhibition in a couple of weeks time
Dilys showed a quilt top that she has just completed but was busy making a blouse. A lovely design and one that everyone seemed to want to make – perhaps we could have a fashion show in September?
Monica showed a quilt that she was working on – made from scraps and quilted by machine and with the addition of buttons.
Jan and Gilly showed quilt as you go panels that they had been making following a workshop they attended with Jeannie Hainsworth Lamb
And, Chris kindly offered to show the group how to make lavender bottles – which were beautiful when completed. Gilly was very pleased with hers.
but it took some a lot of concentration to get to the completion stage!
A big than you to Sue Bowers from Patchwork House, who donated a raffle prize, which was held to raise funds for the back to Sea charity in the phiippines
All in all, a great day was had by all. Time for a break during August and looking forward to seeing everyone again in September.
