Crafternoon Tea a Great Success

Today members of CuttingEdge and Cowbridge Stitch and Bitch joined forces to run a most successful Crafternoon Tea.

Crafters arrived with great expectations and didn’t seem to be disappointed.

They took their time to browse around to see what was on offer and then they were off!

Some started making little gift boxes.

Whilst others had Christmas in mind and decided on scrap fabric wreaths.

And, some had a go at rag rugging with Sonia.

Everyone was so engrossed they were reluctant to stop for tea – until they saw the goodies on offer of course.

And, all thanks to the ladies in the kitchen

And, not only crafts to make there were plenty of crafts for sale.

Before leaving we just had to have a show and tell to admire the works of art that had been created,

Well done ladies!

And despite being very tired at the end of the day the merry band of helpers had time for a group photo and some very entertaining action shots.

We would like to thank all those who gave their time and/or donations to make the day such a great success. Your support is very much apprecated!

And, you will be very pleased to hear that we raised a staggering £1,045!!!!!!

We have been in touch with the Bantayan Back to Sea Charity to let them know how much we raised and they have responded as follows:

“Thank you so much for your efforts. I’m so happy that Bantayan is constantly in your thoughts. I hope all is well with you, and on behalf of Back to Sea please give our deepest thanks to all the people involved in the fundraising”.

We have also received a number of emails from people who attended the event:

Congratulations on a wonderful afternoon. Everything was so efficiently prepared, I got a lot out of it and am surprised how much we did in so little time. The tea was wonderful too. If you are mad enough to do it again I’ll be first on the list, with my sister and niece. You must have a very willing and able band of volunteers to do all that for £15! I hope you made a good profit for Hilary’s very moving Charity. Hope to see you at something quilty or crafty soon. Evelyn

What an amazing amount of money for such a good cause and raised in such a clever innovative way and from one who did the craft activities, lots and lots of fun – I was looking at all my goodies just now ! Clearly good leaders – Monica and Hilary – and an amazing support team. Caroline

I think you should all take a bow – a fantastic result due in the most part to Monica and Hilary who had the idea and put it all together! Pam would be full of admiration. Well done. Helen

Thank you to everyone for putting on such a super afternoon and well done on the fantastic total for the charity. I really enjoyed it all

Well done Monica, you and Hilary deserve a medal. I know you appreciated all the help, but we all need leaders to spur us into action. I’m sure all the ” crafters” would have worked on for at least an other hour. I think it helped us all to have something to do this weekend. Jackie

It was a wonderful afternoon, thank you. I hope you repeat it next year. Pat

Congratulations to you and Hilary for a great event. My daughter, friends and myself thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Anne
