On 17 February a workshop was held that was focused on helping people get the most of their sewing machine and it proved to be very successful.
Sandra Carter, who faciltated the day, kicked off with information about threads and machine needles befroe moving on to help people explore the benefits of the different feet on their machines.
One foot that didn’t seem to be used much by many was the blind hem foot and after a bit of experimenting members of the group were beginning to discover how useful it could be.
There was the opportunity to try out the different embrooidery stitches. And, Sandra’s demonstration of how to use a drawing pin and electrical tape to create circular patterns went down a treat!
As well as providing the group with lots of useful tips and tricks the day provided an insight into heirloom sewing. Many thanks to Sandra for an excellent day.
