It might have been raining out but it was sunny inside with members managing to work on their latest project whislt having a good chat.
Consequently, there was much to share at Show & Tell
Lesley Anne had made a beautiful sashiko bag from a kit that she bought on a recent trip to the Malvern Quilt Show
Chris had been making progress on work that she started at Dyeing to Paint and the recent Hilary Beattie workshop. This is a landscape featuring a windmill which she is doing from a photo that she took on holiday. The windmills sails have been created using golden thread paper – and they look amazing!
Chris couldn’t decide what to do with this piece because the flowers weren’t prominent as she had hoped. But, with a little machine embroidery they are beginning to come to life
Fiona showed a lovely little needlecase that she has made for her daughter in Australia
Marie showed the group some quilts that she is making for charity
And she is making this special memory quilt for her mum
Salinder was busy putting a hanging sleeve on this quilt
And had made this wonderful bag
Sylvana had just finished binding this quilt
And Brenda showed a bag that she had made for carrying quilt blocks. Apparently she has one to match every outfit!
Helen is busy finishing this quilt for an exhibition. She only started it 10 years ago and needs to complete it by July – go for it Helen!
Glynis is making this piece of work under the guidance of Virgina Hole
Stephanie shared two pieces of work that she had done and won a prize for at the Malvern Quilt Show
Well done Stephanie – they are beautiful
And Jan wanted to show everyone the little art quilt that she has made from fabrics that she dyed at the Hilary Beattie workshop
And last but not least Gilly brought a chair?
Takes all sorts as they say!
Many thanks to Chris and Jan for their donation of raffle prizes
Great day, great fun. Looking forward to more of the same soon!
