Today was our last day before the summer break and everyone seemed as eager as ever to get to work on their various projects.
And, as ever there were a lot of completed projects that were shared at show and tell.
Catherine had been busy making fabric flowers – 17 in total!
She also showed two quilts that she had recently completed
Keris brought in a quilt that she has just completed. She started making it for when her daughter went to university but got delayed completing it – her daughter has been working 3 years since university!
She also showed a beautiful knitted blanket wih a teddy on it…
Julia had made an owl needle case from a kit and was searching for a specific thread to finish a kimono wall hanging that she started to make in a Judi Mendelssohn workshop
Jan brought along two antique quilts that she had acquired
Hilary brought along an embroidery case that she had made for a friend
Hillary H reported that she had been on a retreat to France and showed a number of items she had completed including a quilt bag
a Japanese folded patchwork bag
and a cross stitch
Well done Hillary!
Corinne showed off her prize from Glamorgan Quilters. She had won first prize in the 2016 Wendy Surridge challenge and Hilary C came 2nd. And then we found out that CE member Brenda Miller was the very first winner of the challange in 2009.
And at the end of the day Glynis proudly announced that she had finished her quilt.
Time for a break now folks. CE will resume on Tuesday 13 September. Happy holidays!
