Christmas By The Sea!

18 days to Christmas and today’s Dyeing to Paint was focused on the sea! Well nearly all were except Keris and Corinne who were busy making wooden desorations for a driftwood tree that they had made at a recent workshop.

The circles had been cut by Corinnes husband using the trunk of a Christmas tree and then decorated with images made from small biscuit cutters and wooden card embelliehments. They look fab and will certainly make the tree look very festive!

Whilst they were busy beavering away on Christmas others were painting, stenciling and stamping on fabric to create seascape pieces of fabric for use in collages.

Caroline created some wonderful shell fabric using stencils

Glynis produced a wonderful background for a seascape and an expertly stamped piece of fabric

…whilst kept a keen eye on her drying line outside.

Fiona was busy creating various pieces of fabric with her favourite paint roller and brusho paint. She also painted some bondaweb for a future project

She also continued with work in progress

and brought along two lovely little books that she had made using the technique learnt at a recent Angie Hughes workshop

Monica tried out some of the many stencils in Glynis’ hoard.

The compass is likley to be used as a centre piece in a cushion. The rope is particularly attracive and hopefully likely to be used again.

The wave stencil was hand cut on mylar stencil and the fish fabric was created using an indian woodblock.

A busy day all round which was finished off with some yuletide cheer before departing for the Christmas break.

Merry Christmas everyone!
