On Thursday 9 August a small but perfectly formed group of individuals visited Tapestri Cafe to hang the exhibition. Below are some of the photos taken on the day.
The first job was to get all the wonderful fabric postcards on the wall hanging. A fiddly job but well worth the effort!
On completion it was positioned in the cafe entrance alongside the fabulous deckchair that Glamorgan Quilter Catherine Macey kindly loaned for the event. In the background Hillary Hill’s quilt is in view and alongside the deckchair there is a wheel of windmills – lovingly made by group members!
The next job was to position members work in the main cafe area. Every piece submitted was displayed and the effect was stunning! Pat Earing’s quilt can be seen in the background of the photo below.
The fish bunting was hung alongside colourful oilcloth bunting and the final touch was to put vases of the fabric windmills on the tables and Chris Dobson’s sea themed cushions around the benches
Job done! A satisfying afternoon’s work and an exhibition to be proud of. Well done to all those involved and a HUGE thank you to CE members Corinne Roberts, Liz Price, Keris Howard, Pat Earing, Monica Dennis and Swansea Festival of Stitch committee member Joyce Grove for generously giving their time to hang the exhibition. And a BIG thank you to Isobelle Davies for her excellent background planning which helped to ensure that everything ran smoothly on the day – what a team!
