Today a small group of CE members got together to focus on developing their skills with the Scan and Cut machine.
And by pooling knowledge from past experiences and watching You Tube videos helped to produce better results when cutting fabric. This was achieved by using a hi tack adhesive sheet and labelling the new blade so that it is only used to cut fabric. We also experimented with blade, pressure and speed settings until we achieved a neat cut and logged all the information with samples so that we could refer back to them if needed in the future.
And we did manage to cut some neat pieces though Isobelle doesn’t appear to look too sure about this one?
though this one ended up back to front!
And whilst we were all busy playing with our scan and cut machine Jan was busy at the other end of the table getting a bit frustrated though she did end up with a lovely leaf stencil.
Today Cutting Edge members met for the last time before Christmas and as well as enjoying a Christmas Bring and Share Lunch some fitted in a spot of knitting and sewing!
Fiona was engrossed in learning to knit under the watchful guidance of Brenda.
Whilst others were engrossed in their sewing projects
Some however, were more interested in the festivities – Glynis adorned with a sparkling hairband
And, Irene looking a treat as a French Tart!
Whilst Jeannie looked like she had had too much French tart!
The lunch was certainly worth waiting for – as ever members had excelled with a wide range of tasty treats, both savoury and sweet!
And, if that was not enough we had a birthday to celebrate as well – Happy Birthday Linda!
A lovely relaxing day with great friends – with more to come in the New Year
Merry Christmas everyone!
