Variety is the Spice of Life

Cutting Edge sessions are always a busy affair and today was no exception.

Those around the table were busy working on various projects and catching up for a chat with friends. Brenda, Bridget and Carol were busy quilting..

Others were busy discussing a planned community war quilt. What colour fabrics, threads etc. How can we make the poppies? Liz seemed to have a plan…

And the Scan ‘n Cut and Sissix machines were available to play with!

Monica cut out some letters..

… and a seahorse which will be turned into a stamp block for an up and coming Dyeing to Paint workshop

She also showed the group a cushion that she had made using a Sissix machine die cut

Caroline was on a mission to finish some cushions that she plans to give to her Russian visitors who are coming next week

At Show and Tell Jan showed the group a denim bag that she had made for her sister. She embellished it with the most beautiful machine embroidery

Jeannie showed a stunningl quilt that she was completing

Brenda showed a stunning cross stitch that she had done of her grandchildren.

And Corrine showed a stitched picture that she had made at the recent Alison Moger workshop.

A Busy Day Finishing Projects

Our UFO day today was busy, busy, busy with members on a mission to finish projects and start new ones.

Jan was beavering away on a bag that she wanted to finish and was planning on putting these wonderful elephants on it.

She also brought a table runner that she pans to finish but that remains work in progress.

Stephanie was working with some wonderful Welsh fabric…..

She also brought in her finished WW1 quilt – which is fabulous and now hangs in the hall of fame on our dedicated blog page

Whilst, Catherine progressed with her embroidery.

And Hillary was busy making a bag for her mum’s Christmas present.

Talking of Christmas, Chris brought along fairy shoes that has made for her grand children.

Finally, Hilary got to have a go on the scan ‘n cut machine – on a mission to make some fabric letters for heart bunting for a new baby girl
