Dyeing in the Sun

Yesterday was just perfect for trying out sun dyeing and members of the group were extremely pleased with the results they got from their efforts

We are not sure what Isobelle is going to do though with the mish mash of images she created i.e. potato masher, feet shapes and leaves??

In addition to the sun dyeing there was experimentation with new plastic moulded templates that we recently acquired, which gave some fab designs to work on

Caroline spent the whole day stencilling shells on tea towels with markel stiks. The towels are going to be prizes at next weeks St Hilary Bake Off competition

And Glynis was trying out some new stencils that she had bought

Monica seemed to be eager for autumn….

Tanya was very pleased with her attempt at tie dye. She achieved her pattern with polystyrene balls and elastic bands. There was a suggestion that she could show us all how to do it next time!

It was great to see that all this beautifully created fabric is being put to good use. Janet showed some cards that she had made from fabric she printed at the last session and Keris showed a beautiful sea horse that she had embroidered onto a piece of fabric that she had previosuly sundyed with salt

Her seahore will be exhibited in Tapestri cafe in August

We now have a break to enjoy the rest of the summer. We will be back in action again on the 6 September
