Festival of Quilts 2014

Yesterday Monica and Hilary ventured out in the torrential downpour to visit the Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham. This year there was a very special reason for being there because the Lakeside school quilt that they helped to make last year was being exhibited. And, they were not disappointed when they saw it hanging next to another school quilt that had been made to celebrate a centenary!

And, then to add to the pleasure of the day they were thrilled to see Pam Stead and Jeannie Duncan Farr’s challenge quilts.

At the tombola stand Monica was pleased to see a little heart key ring that she had made from Melin Tregwynt Wool waiting for some lucky person to win it

As well as lots of opportunity for buying the much needed fabrics and haberdashery there were some stunning quilts to admire at this year’s event.

And, just look at this amazing working clock!

A great day out – well worth the visit.

Hilary’s Contribution for the Quilter’s Exhibition Tombola at NEC

Hilary was also very industrious yesterday. She was covering little note pads with beautifully embroidered fabric. They are being donated to the Tombola stall at the Quilters Exhibition that is being held in the NEC, Birmingham in August.

I am looking forward all the lovely items that have been donated.
